ok i just notice this 2day i was thinkin bout it and i wanna no why isnt renji a captain he has his banki and is not hiding it like Ikkaku so i was wondering if anyone knows y or wat they think is the reason that he is still a lieutenant and not a captin

I think renji wants to surpass Byakuya before getting capt

Actually...as another captain he'd have even more opportunities, each squad has it's own rivalry thing going on, and we know captains can openly fight each other (Hitsugaya Vs Gin).

Maybe becasue he hasnt fully mastered his bankai since he did it in such a short time.

or maybe cause he doesnt want captain he is happy serving under byakuga

he also would have to kill another captain and renji isnt the type of person who would kill a captain to me

Yeah apparently there are 3 captain spots open...I don't understand why the vice captains just didn't step up....thats why they are there, am I not correct? Having Bankai shouldn't even determine if you can become a captain, shoot there are lots of good Shinigami that don't have it. One question...is Ikkaku's friend gay? Like the dude dressed in kimono's before they became Shinigami, anyway one person could answer it.

Besides, there's 3 ways of becoming captain.

1: They must have Mastered their Shikai and Bankai, and Gotten Votes from The Chamber of 46 and a few of the Captains. (impossible)

2: They must be suggested by 4 captains, then at this point they must be approrved by 4 of the other captains if I remember. (This would need to change).

3: They need to kill their former captain (not happening this lifetime).

You know I don't think hes told everyone bout his bankai. Only byakuya and every other time he has used it noone else was around.
